DIXIE - FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Will there be someone at the airport to pick up my son? The camp will dispatch a chartered air conditioned bus to the airport. This bus has a lavatory and VCR and will pick up Dixie campers in the baggage claim area of Charlotte Douglas International Airport. The first chartered bus should arrive at the airport at 11 am to pick up the first shift of arrivals. Campers should pickup their luggage and report to the doors outside of baggage claim, on the lower level, to meet the camp representative and board the charter bus. How will my son know who the Dixie staffer is that was sent to pick him up? Airport transportation personnel will be dressed in Dixie Top 150 camp t-shirts and Dixie Top 150 Lacrosse Camp shorts. What should my son pack for camp? The complete packing list can be viewed on the page entitled Dixie Details. How are the Dixie All-Star teams picked? Campers are surveyed upon arrival about their eligibility for Champ Camp. Then, the college coaches at camp watch all campers carefully. After Saturday's afternoon session, there is a meeting to pick the teams from the eligible pile. Performance at camp is the only criteria.
