DIXIE - DETAILS FOR CAMP

Dear Dixie Top 150 participant,

Greetings! The spring season is winding down, and school's almost out, so I' m sure your thoughts have turned to summer. In part that means getting ready for the Dixie Top 150 Lacrosse Camp, to be held July 10 - July 13th, 2008 at Catawba College.

There are a variety of details listed below which we wanted you to be aware of prior to arriving at Catawba College. Please read these carefully, so that we can all have a smooth and enjoyable camp.

First, about check-in. We will check you in at the the dorm, watch for signs on campus. There will be signs at the entrance to the College directing you to check in. You should plan to arrive between 12:00 and 2:00 pm on July 10th. You must be checked in by 2:00 pm AT THE LATEST so that we may begin the afternoon session promptly.

Second, a list of things you need for camp.
  1. Please be sure to bring $40 for key deposit and $40 for airport transportation if you haven't paid in advance.
  2. Practice gear (t-shirts,shorts, etc.) for nine field sessions.
  3. Shoes for both wet and dry grass fields.
  4. Basketball/tennis shoes.
  5. Spending money. We will have a full camp store in the dormitory, selling lacrosse clothing and equipment, gatorade, snacks, and pizza. We CANNOT take credit cards.
  6. Bathing suit.
  7. Sheets for your bed, a pillow, towels, soap, shampoo, and other personal hygiene articles.
Third, Catawba College offers tremendous facilities.
You may want to take advantage of the following:
  1. Indoor basketball.
  2. Supervised weight room.
  3. Swimming pool.
  4. Tennis courts.
  5. Recreation Center
  
Next, please leave the following phone numbers with your parents should they need to contact you while at camp:

For non-emergency messages, please email jseivold@blakeschool.org. We will be checking our messages on a daily basis and will return your inquiry promptly. If you need to speak with a representative of the camp, call the Catawba College lacrosse office at (704) 637-4485), and leave a message with Coach Bourque.

For 24-hour emergency contact, call either (704) 637-4000 (CAMPUS SECURITY)

Finally, about transportation.
If driving to Catawba College, follow the directions outlined in the brochure and on the website. Once you exit the highway, there are signs leading you right to Catawba College.
